LifeCare's innovative AIM™ program bridges the gap between traditional home health and traditional hospice care. Thousands of families in East Texas are at home managing very advanced illnesses, and they need the type of expertise and service that hospice provides. However, a large percentage of these people do not receive hospice services in a timely manner for two reasons.
For this very important group of patients, LifeCare has developed the innovative AIM program. Our AIM program uses your home health benefit (from Medicare or insurance) to deliver care from hospice-trained nurses, support from a medical social worker certified in psychiatric counseling, rehabilitative therapies, home health aide support, and other palliative care services – often at no cost to the family. With AIM, prognosis is not an admission criterion, and patients in our palliative care program are free to pursue any medical treatment they choose, including curative treatments.
